US Open Bicycle Race
The new US Open Bike Race in Virginia will be on TV (NBC) tomorrow afternoon (April 7) from 1:30 until 4:00.  Chad Hartley of Team BMC (and Hinsdale, IL; and Westview Hills) will be racing.

Re: US Open Bicycle Race

Thanks for the info Dave, I will have to check that out if I am around the house at that time.

Re: US Open Bicycle Race
Chad finished 21st of around 140 starters.  Tough, tough race.  Snowy, windy and cold!  More than half of the riders didn't finish.  I was pretty sure I picked out Chad on the TV coverage, but it is hard to tell.  I think I know his riding style well enough to tell it was him toward the front on the first few climbs in Richmond.  Svein Tufts, from Canada, won the race.  He looked very strong.
I sure wish this weather would break so that I could get some more outdoor miles on!  Spinning in April sucks.  I did Friday night's class and then back to back classes this morning.  Calvin's Challenge is less than a month away.

Re: US Open Bicycle Race

Not to mention the fact that portions of that course looked almost un-rideable.  Good for Chad.  I did get to see about a half hour of the race but that's about it.
