Fall 07 TV
Thought I would revive John's thread from last year with that same topic. So feel free to post whatever good shows you find with the new season just starting...

Re: Fall 07 TV
hmm, I don't get much chance to watch tv, but I've enjoyed Psyche and Burn Notice, both on USA network, I enjoy The Unit, Entourage, looking forward to the new season of The Wire (possibly the best show on TV the past season), The L Word is ok, Trying out that new show K-Ville, want to try Life, because I like the lead actor from Band of Brothers. That's all that springs to mind.

Re: Fall 07 TV

Burn Notice was easily the best overall show this summer season.  Well written, directed, and cast in my opinion.  I like Psyche too but I thought this season was a little bit of a let down compared to last season.  I usually Tivo everything and watch things when I can.  Currently I am Tivo-ing:

House
Dr. Who
BSG
Eureka*
Monk (wify likes it alot, I think it is okay but starting to get a bit stale)
Psyche
Burn Notice*
Weeds (hilariously funny show.  Kevin Neelan and whoever the character who play's Andy is are both excellent.)
Dexter
Heroes*
Lost
4400

* -- I try to make time to watch these live or as near-live as possible.  Usually I wait 20 minutes so I can fastforward thru the commericals.

Burn Notice was easily and by far the best show of the summer season hands down.  Well, written and directed and an awesome cast too.  It doesn't hurt that it is set in Miami South Beach either. ;)  The second best show of the summer season I would say was 4400.  Decent writing although they have cheaped out a couple of times on longterm plot lines in my opinion.  Psyche was neck and neck for second place although I think it fell a bit short.  Eureka was also very well written thise season and SciFi already picked it up for a third.  If people didn't catch these shows over the summer I would definitely rent the past season(s) from Netflix or Blockbusters.  They are definitely worth watching.

Checking out or currently renting previous seasons:

Life (same reason Will)
Chuck (good for laughs probably will rent)
Journeyman (I thought the premiere was excellent)
Entourage
Office  (rent it, love it but don't have time for it)

I just orderd season 1 & 2 of Dr Who redux on DVD.  Season 3 comes out in early Nov. I believe.  This season has been really excellent.  I especially like the Weeping Angels episode.  It was pretty creepy and very unique.  A baddy who never moves once in the episode but is more ominous and threatening and scary because of it and the Dr. isn't physically in the episode until the very end.  If you check out one episode from the new series, watch that one or the WW II episode from Season 1.

Re: Fall 07 TV
Chuck is really funny, I suggest taking a look at it.
K-ville is really good too.
Got sucked into watching Survivor: China so my one friend has someone to talk about with, it's actually not that bad so far.
Big Bang Theory on CBS, Monday nights, is absolutely hilarious.
4 MORE MONTHS UNTIL 24!!!!! (At least I have House to keep entertained until then!!)

Re: Fall 07 TV
haha, the rest of you have no idea how big a 24 freak Dan is, every week, that's the first thing he leads off with upon entering the room. Of course, I'm a pretty big fan too, so I'm not one to talk.

Cool John agrees with me on Burn Notice and Psyche. I didn't get to catch all of either of them, but the season finale of Psyche was pretty good. Heroes, I only saw a couple of episodes of, going to netflix them. Damn! until John reminded me, I completely forgot Dexter. Loved it on netflix. It looks like I watch a lot of tv, but really, I see none of it at the time it's broadcast, and while there's a DVR in the house, I don't usually use it.....I should really use the one on my desktop too...I spend so much time listening to music. If anybody loves classical music as much as I do (unlikely, I'm sure) the Naxos Music Library is pretty much my constant companion. hundreds of thousands of cds available streaming. I have it hooked into my surround sound in my tiny little studio, which makes a really suprisingly good listening room. I mention this because I probably watch an hour of TV a day at most and hardly pay attention, yet no matter how tired or roof-weary I am, I probably catch 3-4 hours of listening.

Re: Fall 07 TV

How could you guys even have a discussion about television and not even think about mentioning "Reno 911"!?

Other than that, it's  "The Office", and "Heroes".  I hear Boston Legal is good.  Never seen it.

Re: Fall 07 TV
Did you hear that they are somehow miraclously bringing Tony back? Even though he's dead cause Henderson stapped with Epinephrine in season five, and was obviously dead. (that and it says so on the 24 website...http://www.fox.com/24/profiles/season5/ta.htm) No idea how you bring someone back from the dead, something about the none-ticking clock at the end of the episode signifying that he wasn't dead or something stupid like that. They say they are going to explain it and it's all going to make perfect sense...can't wait to see how they do it. Will, only 107 more days til the premiere.

Re: Fall 07 TV
Let's face the truth, I think we all try to watch things live, but...we never find time or are always doing something else. Thank you to who ever invented the DVR and TIVO!!!!!

Re: Fall 07 TV
huh...ok. But without his wife, what kind of person will he be? I predict a bad guy. I know I'd be after all that.
Perhaps they'll cross it with a movie, call it "Dawn of the 24". And Jack will fight off Zombies.

Re: Fall 07 TV
He probably will be a bad guy. And "Dawn of the 24" would make an amazing movie, (*or musical/opera so get started Will*)

Re: Fall 07 TV
Will, appears you were right about Tony now being a bad guy. A trailer that was recently released seems to prove your prediction right. This is killing me though, it was supposed to premiere tomorrow, stupid writer's strike!
