That is a movie I definitely would like to see. Getting a second opinion on how good it is however, just make me want to see it all the more.

I went to see MI3 over last weekend. Had excellent Thai food first at a small place just off of Raymond Rd and Ogden. I had the spicy Basil Leaves with beef. Added a little chilli powder and I must say it was excellent. Recommended to anyone going to see a film at the AMC 30 just down the road a bit.Onto the movie (that was the point of this post afterall):
MI3, in my humble opinion is definitely the best of the MI movies made to date. The pacing and the feel are just so much more like the show. Puzzling things out after the opening scene just allows you to sit back and enjoy the revelation. While the focus is still on Ethan, the teamwork plays a major role throughout the entire movie which was an element that was highly visible in the TV series but not at all in the first two MI movies. J.J. Abrams, the creator/director of Alias and Lost, did an awesome job on both the screenplay work and the directing. Even if it wasn't his first time directing a feature length film I would say the same thing but since it was I think I would feel safe in saying that I believe we will see a lot more movies from this guy in the future. I understand he was a huge MI fan and spent a lot of time researching with the original TV content. I think all of this combined to make this movie an excellent popcorn action flick.
People may indeed be sick of Tom Cruise because of all his recent roles or his more public antics but I found it very easy to forget about the actor and sink into the Ethan Hawk character. Besides which I have to give Tom Cruise a lot of credit for handing over a franchise to a untested (film wise) director. Good call!
Cheers,
I have wanted to see that movie since I saw the teaser trailer a few years ago. I remember Dave had all kinds of problems with non-wrinkled clothes and such but it still seems like a very cool movie to me. It is nice to hear another person recommending it. I will definitely have to check it out now that I have heard both positive and negative reviews for it.
Thanks,
I haven't seen any movies lately...I don't know why but for some reason no movie has appealed enough to me to get me out to the theatre.
The wife did rent "The Wild" for the kids the other night though. It is a Disney picture which apparently was on the big screen but I don't even remember hearing about it which is unusual because I usually get dragged to all of the kids movies whether I want to go or not.
It was a computer animated film that reminded me a lot of Madagascar. Zoo animals, wild, boat trip, penguins...
The inner conflict is a story about a boy relating to his father and finding his "roar", finding himself, his place in the world, or his voice if you will. The external conflict is much more amusing: Wilderbeasts lead by William Shatner. Shatner's character has decided that the Wilderbeasts will ascend to the top of the food chain. To do this they need to consume a lion.
There are some funny moments in the film. The whole curling scene in the zoo after operating hours is pretty amusing but then again I am a sucker for fart jokes so I guess I am easily amused.
I wouldn't rent this film and certainly wouldn't see it in the movie theatres but if it happened to be on cable and there was nothing else on, I guess I would watch it until something better came along.
Later for now,
