Sorry for any inconvenience I may have cause yesterday by having the site down for about an hour but believe me it was well worth it, well at least to me. ;)
With the Divisional events just finishing up I took the opportunity to move the webserver from the standard midtower Antec case with normal fans it called home into a new cube case from MountainMods called the UFO Duality which I had outfitted with Noctua 120mm case fans. Even with leaving the hardrive just resting on the case (which causes virbration in the case that makes the PC sound more noisy) and not installing all the 5 1/4 inch bay covers the noise level was considerably reduced. So much so that when I turned off the workstation that sat next to it the loudest noise source in the room was a PC under a desk on the other side of the room and it was substantially louder than the case I was standing right next to as well. The fans are so silent I had to double check them all to make sure that they were indeed on. If you can stand the cost, these fans are as near silent as they claim to be.
I am truly sorry if I inconvenience anyone. It seemed like a good opportunity to do this without having to stay up late and with Divisionals going on at the time considering that the same box also hosts the il-div.com site too...well it just seemed like a good time.
Later for now,
JS
