New email address for the fencing club, Wednesdays, summertime, misc...
As silly as it probably sounds, I've changed the official email address over the past week to:
info@napervillefencingclub.com
Note that the only real changes here are the addition of "club" at the end, and a return to ".com" from .org.

Why? Ok, the silly part.
I have to cruise through like 4-5 email address for various domains/projects, all of which generate a small amount of mail per day. By doing it this way, I have 4 of them on the same user interface, instead of having to cruise over to a totally different site and interface just for club related mail. The real issue here is that I kept forgetting. I hate leaving people in the learch when they email, and even more hate having to write back something like, 'Sorry for the lateness...' every time I reply.....so blame me for untidy email practices, or an inability to remember simple tasks, but there you go. The URL of www.napervillefencingclub.com just points at this site, in case you're wondering. John hasn't indicated his intentions about this website, so I don't want anybody to presume from reading this that I assume it's still going to stay up and running forever, or that I think he'll pull the plug on it anytime soon either. I don't pretend to read anybody's mind, nor would I blame anybody for changing anything.

Also, as I wrote in another part of the site, while I'm still taking a break from my personal fencing, I do intend to get back into it a little more sometime AFTER I finish the project I'm devoted to at the moment, which takes up almost all of my attention past the teaching of my fencing classes. So I'm still very activly teaching, and promoting the fencing of my students, I'm just not hooking up to the box, personally.

Currently, there is no fencing on wednesdays. That will probably remain the order of the day through the summer. After that, time will tell, but I wouldn't mind (if I have the time) starting a new program on wednesday for epee fencers (and possibly sabre fencers, believe it or not...) that want to train intensely. This of course depends on the involvement of some of you students, and will only happen if YOU want to be heavily involved in such a program.

Re: New email address for the fencing club, Wednesdays, summertime, misc...

I was just posting upcoming tournament information onto the site and noticed your post Will.

Let me know if I should delete the old info@napervillefencing.org email address as it is still active on the domain email service and I wouldn't want people getting confused or thinking they are emailing someone when they aren't and I don't want to leave an unmanaged mail box out in there either.

I have no plans on taking down the site at all.  I am really relieved at not having to think about getting something started in Naperville or  anything related to all of that.  It is nice to have let go of all of that finally.  You know that DG and GE are unfortunately too far for me to travel with the kids and all but if you do decide to start something closer to home than I will more than likely be one of the first people in line for it.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone after the summer hiatus if not for club on Wednesdays then at least at some tournaments hopefully.  I would have liked to keep coming on Wed. in May but with the Hawaii trip and all the work I need to get done before then plus the kid's baseball/softball something had to give....ah well.

Later for now,

JS
