I am planning on going to go to the open event so if anyone else is going too I guess I will see you there. If any first timers are going to this event or one of the earlier events and would like assistance let me know and I will try to make it to the event. I can't promise for certain that I can make it but if it means getting some more competitive fencers out there for NFC I will certainly try to do my best to be there and lend a little additional support. I know I appreciated all the additional support when I first started going to competitions.
Later for now,

Hey all,
Just a quick note about this tournament.
Nice turnout: 32 Epee fencers showed up. Some I have never seen before and some, like Matt Morich, I hadn't seen in a long while. There were mainly kids events going on and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. There were medals for all the youn entrants and trophies for the top 4 of each event. The kids events were run very smoothly and while we were late starting it was only by a half hour. Unfortunately they only could get 4 referees and so only had 4 strips which meant 8 person pools. So the open ran for a lonnggg time. Our pool got done first at about 4:10 and most of the other pools were done by about 4:20. The turn-around on the first round of DEs was excellent although I was at the very end of the bout list (second to last bout I think) so I had to wait about an hour. I waited about 25 minutes for my round of 16 bout and about 40 minutes for my final round of 8 bout. The finals were starting when I left around 6:30 (Henry Reed vs. Shawn Smith). All-in-all it was a decent event. I would definitely recommend it for youths. I don't know if I would go back for the Open or not myself really. I guess it would depend on who else had registered.
Cheers,
