I'm probably not going to be able to go either. In my attempts to find out how the hell I was going to fix my blade, I wound up bending the copper tab backwards, and as I found out after about half an hour of trying, it does not want to bend back. Sorry.

I'm pretty.

Seriously, that's perfectly fine Chase. As I told you on Thursday, I'm really happy with how you're fencing right now, and your win earlier this season, and your exp at the Burton really did a lot for you, and frankly it's totally fine you're not going to the remenyik this year. There's plenty of time, and I'm looking forward to working with you with a long-term view, being able to relax and work on the nitty-gritty things, and not worry about some tournament. Enjoy your weekend, watch that DVD I loaned you, study it!

Breaking News:
Our lone foilist (like a lone gunman, but guns actually work when you pull the trigger)
Kevin Stuart, has won 3rd place (complete with battle ax!) and earned an A07! Kevin is the first NFC fencer to earn the A rating. I know that everybody shares my pride in Kevin, and speaking personally, I couldn't express the joy and pride I have in him, not just for a finish in some tournament, but in Kevin Stuart as a man. I know we all look forward to having him back full time after his graduation next spring, and local fencing will profit. NFC might even have some foilists once again, thanks to Kevin, and the new wednesday nights.

I talked to Stuart last night.  Sounds like he had quite a day.  Some close bouts.  All the training he did with Will this summer really paid off.  I would like to point out that to get that far in a tournament of that size (especially with so many close bouts) really requires a great deal of stamina and strength.  Then he told me he didn't eat breakfast and only had Gatorade during the DE's.  That is really something.

The bout with Peter Habala must have been outrageous!
